Instructions

Instructions on how to provide us with your saliva sample:

Picture
Refrain from eating, smoking or drinking, other than water for at least 1 hour before taking the test.

Picture
Rinse the mouth with warm water. If testing on a baby, allow her to drink water from her bottle before testing.

Picture
Remove sterile swab from packaging and make sure not to touch the swab end.

Picture
Scrape the inside of the cheek, under the tongue and behind the lips with the sterile swab.

Picture
Place swab back into the original casing.

Picture
Use a regular envelope to send the swab back to our laboratory and wait for your result.
If you are asked to declare a value for the swab, please put the minimum $1 value.

Sending your samples back:

Sending blood or saliva samples are not subject to regulation as hazardous materials which makes them very easy to send using postal service.

Canada post, FedEx and UPS all have very similar requirements and are easy to follow. Once you have used the cotton swab to collect your saliva, put the swab back into its original casing and than put that inside a sealed plastic bag (Ex. Zip lock bag). Put that inside the envelope provided with your kit and mail it back. Easy.

The envelope also must be marked “EXEMPT HUMAN SPECIMEN”. That's it. You are done.

In the very rare event where your local post office in your country does not offer mailing service for “EXEMPT HUMAN SPECIMEN”, you may use FedEx or UPS to send us your sample. FedEx and UPS are private courier companies and have their own guidelines.
